What is Argonaut?

Argonaut was founded in 1982 by Jez San. We're known for pioneering 3D graphics technology and creating innovative games across multiple platforms. Our most famous works include the Croc series, Star Fox, and the Super FX chip technology that revolutionized 3D console gaming in the 1990s.
What is the Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition?

The Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition is a significant free update to the Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster.
The Platinum Edition features:

16 New Trophies

A new time trial gameplay mode called Time Attack

25+ new additions to the Crocipedia.

The ability to toggle between different Croc Main Theme mixes in the main menu.

A bunch of bug fixes were squashed. Ker-Splat!

A handful of quality-of-life features and improvements.
It is available for all platforms (Steam, GOG, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox).

How do I get the Platinum Edition update for Croc Legend of the Gobbos?

With the exception of PlayStation, if you've already purchased the Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster, your game will automatically update.
PlayStation players will need to go to the PlayStation store and download the Platinum Edition version which they will be able to get for free if they have purchased Croc previously.
With the new Platinum Edition, is the remaster of Croc identical on all platforms?

Yes. The Platinum Edition update will make sure that all platforms are the same as much as possible. Some features may be limited due to platform restrictions. (For instance, the Platinum Trophy is available on the PlayStation 4/5 versions since other platforms do not have such Trophies.) Even the Nintendo Switch version will include in-game achievements.
Is there a physical release for the Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster?

We did have a preorder for a physical release in 2024 with Rock It Games.
That preorder is now closed.
I preordered the Collector's Edition through Rock It Games. When can I expect my copy of Croc Legend of the Gobbos?

The physical version of Croc is manufactured and distributed by our partner Rock It Games. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over their release schedule. Please contact them directly for more information regarding your order.
Where can I get the original classic PC version of Croc, not the remaster?

Croc Classic comes with a purchase of the Remastered version at GOG.com.
Will there be a Croc 2 remaster?
​
If the Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster sells well, our intention is to remaster Croc 2.
What are Argonauts' most famous titles?

What is the Super FX chip?
​
The Super FX chip was a custom graphics processor we developed in partnership with Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). This groundbreaking technology enabled true 3D graphics on the 16-bit console, making games like Star Fox possible. It was one of the first instances of real-time 3D polygon rendering on a home console.
Did Argonaut work exclusively with Nintendo?

While we're well known for our Nintendo collaborations, particularly Star Fox and Super FX chip, we've developed games for multiple platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and various handheld systems throughout our history.
What platforms do you currently develop for?

We develop for current-generation consoles, PC, and other platforms as appropriate for each project. Our platform strategy adapts to market demands and the specific requirements of each game we create.
Do you have plans to remaster specific Argonaut games?
​
While there's always interest in revisiting our classic titles, any plans for remasters would be announced through official channels. We appreciate the continued fan enthusiasm for our classic games.
